Euclid Public Library is a proud Connecting for Kids partner. Connecting for Kids (CFK) provides education and support for families with a concern about their child. They can help with many types of concerns -- from understanding a new diagnosis to family changes, like divorce or adoption.

CFK provides resources on many concerns including anxiety, attention issues, autism, developmental delays, epilepsy, and sensory issues. CFK also helps families whose children are having difficulty making friends, struggling academically, or facing a major life change such as parents divorcing.

What types of programs come from this partnership?

Adapted Storytime

Children enjoying storytime

Euclid Public Library staff conduct Adapted Storytimes for atypically developing children with unique needs. Typically developing siblings are welcome to attend but must register separately. Registration is required for these programs to ensure that we are creating a safe and accepting space for children with unique needs. Adapted Storytimes occur in February, March, and April as well as September, October, and November.

Here are the Fall 2023 dates and times for Adapted Storytime at Euclid Public Library. Storytimes will occur in the children's storyroom.

  • Saturday, September 16 at 11:00am
  • Saturday, October 21 at 11:00am
  • Saturday, November 18 at 11:00am

Music Therapy & More welcomes children of all abilities. The music therapists can adapt programming for children with limited language skills, motor skills/mobility, or for children who are unable to sit for the entire program. Parent Program

Connecting for Kids offers a parent program each Spring and Fall. Childcare available! Join us for our next parent program, Navigating IEPs, 504s & ETRs, on Thursday, November 9 at 6:30pm in the Lake and Shore Rooms.

Program Description: What is the difference between an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and 504 plan? How do you request an evaluation if you suspect your child could use some additional support? What is an Evaluation Team Report (ETR)? Navigating the world of special education may seem overwhelming at first. Join Connecting for Kids staff as they help you understand the process so that you can more effectively work with the school to help your child. Families will have the chance to engage in breakout sessions to talk with peers about specific IEP or 504 concerns and speak with a member of the district’s student services team to ask questions and make connections.

To register for the program, visit connectingforkids.org/register and click on Register for an Adult Program.
