  • New Moon & Other Ramblings

The Vampire Book Club attended the opening night showing of New Moon at the Lakeshore Theaters. After the movie, we had dinner at Maria's on Lakeshore and discussed the film. We all agree that this sequel was much better than the original Twilight, with far better special effects, script, direction, and editing.

Most still dislike the casting of Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the lead roles. Although Pattinson seems to have refined his acting technique and turned in a better performance, he still does not look the part of Edward. As was stated by one member of the ...

  • Twilight Madness and other Ravings

Eclipse Book JacketOne of the questions I get asked most by the teens who frequent my  desmesne (known as YaYa Land) is "What are you reading now, Miss Dawn?" My latest obsession is the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Although the first book, Twilight, sucked me in, my favorite of the series was book three, Eclipse, the focus, BTW, of the next meeting of the Twilight Club (Saturday, November 8th at 3 in the Babbitt Room). The jealousy, tension, and one-upmanship that goes on between Edward and Jacob is LOL funny. The action in the book is sublime, as the tension of who is ...
